Coilplus Berwick Expansion in Piqua in Full Swing
Coilplus Berwick is a steel slitting company that is expanding their facility in Piqua, Ohio.
Coilplus is committed to meeting the needs of their customers by providing steel products of superior quality, manufactured in the most cost-effective manner possible. Coilplus receives coils from the mill and then slits the steel coils to ship to their customers for use in the automotive industry.
Coilplus Berwick originally started in 1969 in Columbus as Berwick Steel Company, and expanded in 1992 to Piqua with a 2nd facility. Other facilities include locations in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas and Alabama. Coilplus Berwick was purchased in 1995 by Metal One which is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. Metal One, headquartered in Japan, is the world’s largest steel trading company.
The original Piqua plant was 65,000 sq. ft. Ferguson Construction is building a 60,000 sq. ft. addition that will almost double the size of the facility to 125,000 sq. ft. total. Coilplus Berwick continues to grow and diversify their customer base regionally and worldwide.
