Built with block walls and brick veneer on the exterior, the new police station for Washington Court House is a 21,000 sq. ft. building that is a fantastic facility with many special features.

The police station has a basement and a first floor that has ample space for expansion. Features include a firing range, an armory, male and female locker rooms, a conference room for briefings, training rooms, a detention area, an evidence room, patrol room and offices.

A new feature that was incorporated by the request of the officers on staff was a safe room in the lobby of the police room. This room has a steel door and locks and is equipped with a phone and bullet-resistant glass facing the dispatcher. This concept is new, developed after a person was shot in a police lobby in another area of the country. It was developed to provide immediate safety in case someone is being followed into the police station.

Ferguson Construction Company, a general contractor in Ohio, is pleased to have built the new police station for the City of Washington Court House.
