The transformation of the mall between Kennedy Union and Marycrest Hall into a rolling, sculpted green space is in full swing at UD.
When completed, the project will increase green space and add walking paths and a fountain. Plans also call for a terraced amphitheater, benches and seat walls, and more than 100 new trees to provide shade. The campus mall renovation includes places for gatherings, programming and organizational events.
With the amphitheater already taking shape, two of the walls have been poured with progress being made everyday. Almost all of the seat walls are already completed. The first stair is done and thousands of square feet of pavers for the walkways are in. When done, it will greatly enhance this area of the campus.
