2 more Ferguson employees earn their LEED AP certification

July 2009

Jay Gearon, P.E., Vice President, Dayton, of Ferguson Construction Company recently received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation as well as Tom Shultheis, Special Projects Manager of Ferguson Construction's Columbus office.

Ferguson Construction now has 7 LEED AP's on staff and is designing and building buildings that use many of the green building practices as stated by the United States Green Building Council.

Green building practices can be incorporated into the design of industrial buildings, commercial buildings and institutional buildings such as schools and university facilities. Green building practices can have many positive outcomes, including reducing the impact on the environment, lowering energy usage and costs, reducing construction waste, and supporting local materials and suppliers.
